Stephanie Furlow Dunn

Stephanie began her dance training at the age of she took ballet and tap at Camp Hill Dance Academy in Camp Hill, Alabama. She continued her dance training at Gwen B. Nix Dance and Lynn Curtis School of Dance in Auburn, Alabama where she studied tap, ballet, pointe, jazz, acrobatics baton. She danced with Lynn Curtis School of Dance in the Nutcracker at Auburn University for three years. She moved to Mobile in 1984 and took ballet and jazz classes at Sheffield’s School of The Dance. She was a cheerleader for Theodore High School She served as captain and was the NCA All- American Cheerleader and cheered in the Aloha Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii. While attending the University of South Alabama majoring in Early Childhood Education, she was the coach of the Theodore High School JV cheerleaders. She has also coached cheerleaders at TAA and Flip Zone Athletics. She taught 4-K at Bright Beginnings Early Development Center. She taught dance at Robin’s School of Dance for 10 years. She was of The Dance Zone at Flip Zone She opened Turning Pointe Dance Academy in 2009. She has choreographed routines that have competed in Showstoppers, Kids Artistic Revue, Fire And Ice, Applause, Hollywood Vibe, VIP, Jamfest Nationals, and Showbiz Talent. Her students have won numerous awards, overalls, and special judges recognition awards with the choreography and dance training that provided.

Stephanie is married to Johnny Dunn and has four children, Mallory, Huntley, Emma and Mackenzie, and four grandchildren, Lukas, Tinleigh Kate, Brexton, and Berkleigh. She has another granddaughter coming in January, Ensley Carter. Her passion for dance and love for children is what drives her to continue to teach dance and maintain Turning Pointe Dance Academy as a place that every child is treated like a star.
